Toby Lightman

“the whole project oozes spirituality, if not outright womanly sensuality…”

-BILLBOARD

“Lightman’s dusky vocals and earthy, groovy vibe invite comparisons to Joan Osborne and Sheryl Crow”

-USA TODAY

“no small talent… Toby Lightman continues to shine a light on her knack for making rich, soulful pop”

-PEOPLE

Toby Lightman’s new release “Know Where I’m From” is made up of acoustic versions of many her hit songs such as “Devils and Angels”, Slippin” and “Front Row”. This record follows Toby’s first independently released album, “Let Go” on her own T Killa Records. She has also had two Atlantic Records releases, 2004's "Little Things" and 2006's "Bird On A Wire". She's toured the country extensively, having appeared with such artists such as Rob Thomas, Jewel, James Blunt, Gavin DeGraw, Train, Marc Cohn, and on one memorable evening, Prince. Toby’s national TV performances include the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, NBC's Today Show, and CBS' Second Cup, among many others. Toby was seen every week singing the opening theme song for NASCAR on Fox broadcasts and her title track “Let Go” was heard during the extensive Home Shopping Network TV/Radio campaign as well as ABC’s Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money. One of Toby’s newest songs, “Colors”, part of the Hard Rock Café compilation SERVE3, was featured in an issue of People Magazine as the HOT DOWNLOAD of the week. She has currently gotten licenses in such movies as PS I LOVE YOU, 17 AGAIN, and THE FACTORY due out next year. Toby is scheduled to release “Know Where I’m From” and tour extensively in June 2010, including performing with the Lilith Fair.
